Kim has been tutoring for over 10 years in math, science and engineering at the middle school, high school and undergraduate level. She graduated in 2002 with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from M.I.T., and is currently working to complete her M.S. thesis in Biological Engineering from Cornell University. Kim worked for two years at a private boarding school directing the math curriculum and teaching A.P. Calculus and Pre-Calculus. She has experience in preparing for standardized exams such as the SAT and counseling for college. Originally from the New York area, she is interested in helping students to learn math and science topics in the context of the world around them, and achieving and establishing their life goals . In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, kayaking, learning new languages and reading about traveling.
Sarmina
Rutter
Sarmina is originally from Columbus, Ohio and has a Bachelors degree in Chemistry from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA, and a Masters in Geography from the University of Hawaii at Manoa. She has been a private tutor on the island of Oahu for the past eight years and has successfully taught a variety of subjects to a large number of students with ages ranging from 6 to twenty-four. Some of the many subjects she has taught are Math, English, Science, Social Studies, Geography, ESL and Economics (college level and high school level). Additionally, she has been highly successful in helping students raise their scores on the SSAT, SAT, TOEFL, GRE and GMAT. Sarmina enjoys working with students of all ages as long as they are somewhat self-motivated and eager to learn.
